A couple of weeks ago we've bought a rack server, which will replace the following:
- our rented VPS which hosts our Teamspeak server and Minecraft server
- our workstation which currently hosts the backup Teamspeak. P4F admin tool and Procon for BF3 and MOHW.
The migration is taking place, we have already effectively moved Teamspeak, Minecraft and the P4F admin tool.
The coming week(s) we will be moving the Procon tools, which are a bit more tricky, and the backup Teamspeak.
Just so you all know! With this server we will no longer be dependent on other people's hardware, we can access the datacenter 24/7 (which is a 10 min drive from my place), in case something goes wrong.
The server has the following specs:
- 2x L5520 QC Xeon processors
- 48 GB DDR3
- All drives in RAID 1 (for extra security)
That's about it, another step in more control of the services we provide!
