Infiana Group GmbH is expanding its North American capacity by adding a fresh extruder at its Malvern, Pa. facility.The company, formerly known as Huhtam?ki Films, changed its name to Infiana in January. In November 2014 non-public equity company Deutsche Beteiligungs AG led a management buyout, acquiring the film organization from Huhtam?ki Oyj of Finland.¡°This will increase our portfolio,¡± noted Robert Shumoski, general manager of Infiana THE UNITED STATES.He said the company¡¯s current building had space for the extra line.Shumoski said the Malvern center has had a strong presence in the construction and building market. The new series strengthens its capacities and also permits new prospects in pressure sensitive films markets and will help develop its composites and personal care market segments. The expansion likewise gives it more versatility and the ability to handle seasonal demand.He said he could not elaborate on the specifics of the growth. Infiana has been around Malvern since 1964 and creating blown film since 2003.The business said that it has about 100 employees in Malvern supplying silicone-coated release films as well as non-siliconized smooth and embossed film.¡°We have been well on our approach to developing THE UNITED STATES into a high-caliber organization with a wide technology base, efficient equipment, and more than anything setting up on a human being capital base which will make our programs in the U.S. successful,¡± said Peter Wahsner, CEO of Infiana Group, in a declaration.This marks Infiana¡¯s first expansion since it became independent.
