I'm getting an error since a couple of days in pretty much any game I play, something with directx and my gpu hanging/getting removed?
I've tried running on 1 card (to check if either of the cards were kaput or even the power supply), error still happened. When I tried deinstalling my GPU drivers my windows went kaput so I reinstalled everything and still the error occurs on this fresh installation.

So I'm down to replacing the GPU's (2x HD7850) and possibly even the motherboard (maybe one of the PCI-e sockets are broken?)
The question is ... which one to buy? Those R9's range from €150 to €450 but I don't really know what the difference is.

Anyone has any experience with these R9's? And if I'm changing my motherboard, which one would you take? (intel i5 2500k)

R9 280X is a excellent card. Thats equivalent to the 7970 Ghz.

But a 290 or 290X is amazing too, whichever you can afford really.
Caveman has 2 290X I believe.

And I am fairly sure Hangover has a 290.

I myself have a 7970 and the performance is great. I run almost every game maxed out, consider the 280X is faster than my card, it should do you fine too.

Buy the R9 290 with tripple fans. You only need one card.

This is what i use. It´s a very good card.
