I want to to upgrade my pc to be more prepared for the FUTUREEE!! *Doc. Emmet Brown impression.

Current rig

i5 2500k
Asrock Extreme4 Z77
2x GTX 670
Creative Sound Blaster Z
16 GB ram
Corsair 500R Case

I want to upgrade the processor to a i7 3770k. Or do you guys recommend to upgrade to Haswell? Or maybe not to upgrade at all?

I also want to replace the case to this one: Phanteks Enthoo Primo. A bit pricey, but that case is beautiful!

2600K is already a i7 so I recommend not to upgrade your CPU at all. Pefromance gain is very minimal.
You could buy the new AMD R9 290X and replace that for your 670's?

But really, your system is fine, doesn't need upgrades.
You could also go for a good headphone? Maybe a 120hz Monitor?

SSD?

what burning says (perhaps you have the i5 2500k?), I would always try to go for one GPU instead of two.

If you don't have a SSD yet, get one it makes a huge difference!

I have a SSD drive yes.

Im using a Asus 144hz monitor. And i recommend that to anyone. :)

Well it is wise to tell us what your budget is. So we can come up. with a solution.

And if you gonna change prosessor it is wise to change to haswell. There is a lot of fixes in the chipset.

The 77 series chipset is kinda semi broken. No proper usb3, pci lanes not well organized and so on.

The 87 series chip is a lot better.

Yesterday i purchased a new CPU cooler since i want to do some Oc'ing.

But i managed to bent some pins in the socket, by placing the new cooler. Dont know how, but it happened.
With some tool i tried to straighten the pins and well, one pin broke. Fuckkkkk

I wanted an upgrade to Z87, so this is a good excuse. I ordered a Asus Maximus Hero board and an i5 4670k.
I thought about buying the 4770k, but my wallet punched me in the face. Stupid wallet.

Yeah those things, stupid wallets :)

But whatever. Be happy on what you have, it's a great rig. I suspect I'm not getting near those specs for at least a year or two, have an old Phenom 2 x4 and Radeon HD 7770, ancient technology.

Installed my new rig.

OC'ed the 4670k to 4,6ghz.

Well this is my rig now:

Motherboard: Asus Maximus Hero VI
CPU: i5 4670k @ 4.4 ghz (the 4,6ghz oc turned out to be unstable)
Videocard: MSI GTX 780 Gaming OC (this card is awesome)
RAM: 16GB
Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster Z
Monitor :Asus VG278HE
Case: Corsair Carbide 500R

Im very happy with it. It cost me an arm and a leg though. :) And i bought the 780 before the pricecut. Â*:(
