Any one of you have any?

I want to build cheap PC for use with my TV set. Movies, UPNP server, Bittorents, FTP and so on...

Any idea or suggestion?

I found out this case: テつ*Codegan (http://www.codegenworld.com/showdetails.asp?max_id_search=11&min_id_search=49&pro_id_search=398)

Motherboard: Russian link (http://fotos.ua/elitegroup/h61h2-i3/specefication/)
and here is manufacturer link eurogroup (http://www.ecs.com.tw/website2008/Downloads/Downloads_Driver_Detail.aspx?MenuID=61&LanID=8&detailid=1357)

CPU: Celeron G440

And some random amount of DDR3 which i found in wardrope.

Motherboard is cheapest one with HDMI. CPU use 35w so it should be easy to make passive cooling (hopefully).

In that case will be 2 HDD.

All will run on Ubuntu or Vista. Depending from way sun shine.

Any suggestions?

Will need to check for USB to SATA something. As Raspbery don't have SATA port on it. For Raspbery i have nice box.

Then i will need box for HDD's and power supply for them.

Problem with Raspbery is that when it try to open web browser it takes some 10-15s. And then it starts playing dead for 10-15s more because of something ...

Will experiment little bit more with it but .... not sure is this useful for such system.

The purpose of RasPi is not that. You can just take it and play with it, maybe try to weld some shiny lights to it and make them go on and off programmatically. It could be made a HTPC solution, but it's a bit out of its scope, I think.

Better buy a real HTPC or even better, assemble one yourself :)

I found this nice Gigabyte boards with AMD CPU's

GA-E240N (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4310#ov) and GA-E350N (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4379#ov) diference in price is around 10 euros.

So if i take that Codegan case, one of this boards (GA-E350N), add some 4GB of DDR3, plus my 2 HDD (1TB and 2TB) ... it will be less then 100 euros HTPC?

Now just to find nice explanation what for do we need this and explain wife all that.

Rest of system will come from local dealers.

Here is case, some unknown to me Logicpower S601BRF with 400w PSU. I doubt in that but for my setup some 100w will be enough.

http://statik.fotos.com.ua/images/products/540/logicpower/s601brf_blackred_psu_400w_32114761063.jpg

Motherboard and CPU will be Gigabyte GA-E350N (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4264#ov) revision 1 (unfortunately). It have AMD E-350D Dual-Core processor with AMD Radeon邃「 HD 6310.

And also one Nocta case fan as that case have some fan on its own but i don't trust to them. テつ*Almost forgot, ordered some DDR3 for 12$, 4Gb just to have it.

Already have HDD, two of them. Will leave 2TB in NAS and 1TB will move to this build.

Plan to put on it Linux with XMBC.
