Is “lag compensation� affecting my performance?

I have a fast internet connection and believe i often have a disadvantage ingame due to lag compensation or latency filter

Yes, of course and it's the same for everyone.

The speed of your internet connection is rather irrelevant, what's important is latency to the server and a realiable connection with no packet losses.
