General idea:
- 6 - 8 gb ram memory but fast
- 90 gb SSD (just for windows 7 and BF3!) All the rest on my HDD
- a x4 processor, don't need 6 core barely games/ applications out that use multiple cores.
- A gfx card decent to play BF3 on pretty high settings, cause I want this PC to go for a while! ;)
- Power supply of 600 - 750 WATT I assume
- A nice case good case where everything fits in! (One I took is obviously very $)
- ALSO a new screen, so can some guys advise what kinda screens are good!

- Someone that can get maybe updating version of W7 for free! Maybe office if someone has that(for school)
- Someone that can help this N00B! Putting all that shit into 1 case and make it work! :)

Budget: 1000 - 1200

Making decision at max the end of this week! So they can deliver it in the week I'm free from school.
Since I don't wont to miss my packages ... And then yeh ASAP putting it together and FINALLY play BF3! :D

you dont need fast memory for gaming. you wont notice any performance increase from 1333mhz or 2133mhz. Games dont utilize the latency.

Youll only benifit if you plan on video or picture editiing.

I have 1833mhz RAM but run it under clocked at 1333mhz not for any particular reason, other than ASUS's stock ram voltage is 1,5v and Corsairs ram requires 1.65v to run at its native speed.

Corsair vengeance is the best bang for buck RAM.

Agree with Badger here, go for Vengeance.

Also, might wanna go for Asus Z68-V Pro , for more Sata ports and USB, Pro version is only a little bit more expensive.
As for monitors the Samsung Syncmasters do really good.
LED, 1080p , and all around 150-200 euro.
I dont really know an awful lot about monitors though.

With a budget of 1000-1200, you can buy a sweet machine!

It already has Vengeance memory, I picked the Dell because it has an IPS panel and Dell screens are generally of high quality. Picked the motherboard because of its Ivy Bridge and PCIe 3.0 support. The two extra SATA-600 ports the pro version offers won't be used anyway. Saves him an extra €20.

Nothing to put the finger on there.
I also have 650W of power and the AMD 6950 2GB card.
All runs real good.
No problems in running BF3 in Ultra settings.
But the screen.. Hmm.. Response at 8ms.. I think thats a bit slow..
Go for a screen with 5 or 2.

Hidde
2012-02-12, 19:39
That's not an updatable version. Besides, I think he'd rather have a normal windows...

Caveman
2012-02-12, 20:52
That is a normal updatable version wich is waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy smoother and with THE OG theme and a lot of other goodies already installed with windows 8)

Windows? > Pirate bay > Solved

.. Problem, microsoft? :)
My window's updates fine..

@Flugger
Always people with their response time. :P
Humans can't notice 200ms or lower. Therfor you won't notice a 8ms response on 60fps > 1000/60 = 16.7
So according to math, you should begin to notice @ a response time of 16.7 ms

Only 3D gamers can really be bothered by response time, since 120hz will notice response earlier.
Thats how i've always looked at it.
Mind explaining me how 8ms could be a problem for him? :)

@Hidde
Won't be used now, but who knows what the future will bring. Perhaps in a year, they come up with a storage way faster than SSD, That will use the full potential of Sata 6. 20 bucks is nothing on a 1200 euro system. You never know what will happen. Therefor i whould really go for the futureproofness of 2 more sata 6 slots. If he plan's on putting Ivy Bridge in this motherboard. Then it will have to last him for quite some time.

Well, OK, but the choice is Michiel's. So it's either P8Z68-V/GEN3 (http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/295064/asus-p8z68-v-gen3.html#tab:info) or P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 (http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/294110/asus-p8z68-v-pro-gen3.html#tab:info)

And Michiel obviously don't know balls about the difference. :)

If I would buy today:

- Benq XL2410T. Its LED, 120Hz, high contrast and stand to adjust the screen your eyes height. *300€.
- 500 Watts is more than enough for a single GPU built. BeQuit with Cable Management (Straight Power E9 CM 580W for example) though 580W is overkill imho. *100€
- core i5 2500k *200€
- Scythe Mugen 3 Rev. B CPU Cooler *45€
- some small motherboard ATX from Asusthat fits your needs *100€
- EVGA/Asus GTX570 *300€
- 2x4GB of some inexpensive RAM like corsair value series. heatspreaders on RAM is only show. dont fall for it. it will only give you problems mounting your tower cpu cooler. *40€
- A really good ventilated and handy Case with dustfilters everywhere like Silverstone Raven2 130€
- keyboard Steelseries 6Gv2 or Raptor Gaming K1 *60€
- Infrared mouse Deathadder, Zowie AM/EC1 *50€

I have most of these things here and run BF3 perfect. Question me or ask for pictures if you want. Get those things from one shop and tell them you need it built. Building is like 20€.

Have fun shopping and take your time.

Uhm:

This will be it just need some minor adjustments: http://tweakers.net/gallery/431520?wish_id=250509#tab:wenslijst

I will be needing maybe other motherboard, cause they couldn't deliver it straight away. For the rest.

!
I need some experts advice on if everything is gone connect with each other.
And that I don't buy anything that is not gone fit in 1. my case or 2. in connections I don't have.

Cause buying something I'm nothing with it. Yeh ... Don't want to come in that alley!

Also me and my dad are gone put the computer together.
My dad himself did evening school on electronics. So he can make the cables look nice.
+ Its gone be fun and a experience more for me of course! Smile

In meanwhile I got the OG version of Windows 7 Ultimate on the mac running.
And that does it fine! So I think it will do it fine on that PC aswell, Thanks Caveman! ;D

And Office 2010 I found also, for college.

So yeh, if some guy's can clarify that everything is gone fit and work. THANK YOU then! Smile
And then I will be ordering everything this week probably.

note Saw I posted it in wrong topic as well! I'm sorry! ;D

Ok

Socket 1155 motherboard, socket 1155 CPU = Fit.
You got low profile ram, so the CPU cooler can fit over it, check.

Its a ATX motherboard, your case fits ATX motherboards, check.

6 Slots for 3.5 inch hdd, should fit.
Dont know about an SSD bracket, might be delivered with the SSD itself > have to check that.

Your GPU Will fit in that case.

Standard size Powersupply.

Yup , it should all definately fit. Maybe you have to look at an SSD bracket, if the SSD/Case doesnt come with that by default. Most likely it will. But check on that
Aside from that, everything will fit fine.

Hidde
2012-02-19, 14:57
You can fit 2,5" stuff in the case, I read.

Looking for the correct supplier now through e-mail. Will be ordering soon. :)

Wondering if I should buy 2 extra 120MM fan's. 1 for the bottem and 1 for the top to have better air cooling and air flow.

Not exactly necessary, check the temps when your system's done before ordering, if you want them lower, go for some slip streams or maybe noiseblockers or even noctua's, but I don't think it will be a drastic change.
