1) I don't change the alignment at all. Let Windows handle it by default.
2) Turn off drive indexing.
3) In Command Prompt type powercfg -h off
4) Disable Prefetch and Superfetch in the Registry Editor, and Windows Search and Superfetch in Services.msc
5) Power Options > High Performance > Turn off display after 1 hour > Advanced > Hard disk sleep never > Turn off display after 60 minutes
6) System Restore I configure for about 10GB worth
7) Pagefile on an other hardisk
8) Install Chipset drivers and Intel Rapid Storage Technology before your first reboot.
9) Msconfig > Boot> Advanced Boot Options > Maximum number of processors
10) Turn off defrag on a schedule in the My Computer area and also in Task Scheduler
11) Now go for all driver installations, Windows Updates, etc.

This topic will be updated with a better explanation about it when i have a bit more time!

Specially made for DarVoo

Thanks for the Site ... i have only 60GB SSD ... OS, Updates + Hardware driver = only 25GB Space left.
I cant install BF3 on my drive, cuz when i want to extract some BluRay movies on my normal 2TB HDD it saves temp. some Files on the OS drive ... so i cant extract cuz i havent enaugh space for that. I disabled only the virtual RAM, i hope the other services helps me to get more space. :-)
