2010-07-27, 22:37
Kenzey I think you mean witch brand it is.

BTW Hellokitty,it should improve you're graphics compared to you're old smoked 8800gts!!! ÂÂ*

edit,

Now don't go and blowup you're brandnew card too by tweaking with it a tiny bit to much, would be a shame now would it..... ÂÂ*

C4b4nossi
2010-07-29, 05:32
It is a PALIT GTX460 Sonic (overclocking edition).

..no, I am not gonna tweak it yet.

..sure; compared to the 8800gts 640 , the 460 brings way better quality in almost every game. Can play Blur and Split/Second on highest settings @ 1360x768. But BC2 needs more cpu than I have (2,7GHz X2). Still can only play at "low" quality. But now I have around 30 to 40 fps - it was 20 to 30 before.

MI-six
2010-07-29, 09:44
thx for the info

Kenzey
2010-07-29, 19:17
Looks like the Palit is actually the fastest card.hmmm
Iam looking for all the other components.

- Mainboard
- CPU
- RAM

any ideas?

Quadcore minimum! Sixcore would be better.
4 GB RAM is totally enough! BC2 doesn' t even use 2 GB!

Kenzey
2010-07-30, 11:40
why the hell should a sixcore be better?
most of the games even dont use a quadcore...

C4b4nossi
2010-07-30, 19:20
..hmm when I had to choose a pc platform 18 months ago (mainboard broken), I choose a DualCore, couse I thought: "Hm...there are actually no games that support QuadCores - so a DualCore is way enough!" - and what is now ? Fuck is! My AMD X2 2,7 GHz is way too slow for BC2!

So if you want to keep your CPU for more than 2 years, I recommend a sixcore!

....I just flashed my BIOS on my ASUS M2N SLI bouard (AM2) to make it compatible to the Athlon II X4 2,9GHz (QuadCore), that I m gonna buy on monday. If it would fit to my board, I would be buying a SixCore!

4 GB RAM is totally enough!

Yes and your WIN7 doesnt even support anymore ÂÂ*:D (32bit) what im using.
Well if your using 64bit Ultimate, enterprise or professional, its 192Gb ÂÂ*
Windows 7 Home Premium 16Gb, Windows 7 Home Basic 8Gb

But hope that you get your new pc up and running soon mate ÂÂ*:)

hmhm i eed advice on a new card to, i think mine is breaking, or something. it isnt good enough in the first place, but a cheap but good enough one. Kitty tells me i can use nvidia, i have ati now.

soo feel free to come with reasonable suggestions

JohnnyPara
2010-08-01, 14:23
I'm more a ATI guy but since that gives problems with BC2 i would say, buy the same as Kitty. The GTX460 has a good price/performance ratio i think.

I also bought one yesterday.

Kenzey
2010-08-02, 09:49

My new CPU is built in. Now I can run BC2 at almost highest graphic settings. here a comparison:

Old:
AMD Athlon X2 4800+ 2,5 Ghz AM2
NVidia 8800 GTS 640mb

BC2 at 1360x768 launched threw BC2_Launcher_1.3 on every lowest settings with DX10.
-> 17 to 30 fps /// CPU at 100%

upgrade:
NVidia GTX 460 1gb

BC2 at 1360x768 with DX10 launched threw BC2_Launcher_1.3 on every lowest settings.
-> 20 to 40 fps /// CPU at 100%

now:
AMD Athlon II X4 635 2,9 GHz AM3 (on BIOS patched AM2 socket)

BC2 at 1360x768 with DX11 on highest settings.
-> 20 to 40 fps /// CPU at 70%

BC2 at 1360x768 with DX11 on these settings:
detail: middle
texture: middle
shadow: low
effects: low
HBO: off
vSync: off
AntiAliasing: 8x
Anisotropic: 8x
-> 35 to 60 fps /// CPU at 70%

Fraps recording decreases about 10 fps and takes 90% CPU.

Kenzey
2010-08-04, 18:12
actually iam updating the card driver...
installed the new gtx 460 minutes ago.
will see how many frames i get :)

C4b4nossi
2010-08-06, 02:49
Another CPU comparison on movie Rendering with Adobe Premiere CS4 x64:

Athlon X2 4800+ 2,5 GHz
10 minutes HD 720 movie took 12 hours rendering time.

Athlon II X4 635 2,9 GHz
4 minutes HD 720 movie took 30 minutes rendering time.
(10 minutes movie would take probably 75 minutes.)

Both CPUs took about 2,5 to 3 GB RAM ussage.

Odd I run it 3,0ghz dual core (E6800), 2900XT, 2 gigs of rams.
And yes... quad or six cores it doesn't matter much what matters is the cache size, fsb speed, and what kind of series it is because some series do more with the same ammounts of gigahertz, it sounds weird but that's because of the better design it has or because of some tricks they used in the programming...

It also might vary on which motherboard you place it and what kind of memory you use because if things don't work well togheter your performance will be severely necked... Also choosing the right settings in your bios may improve performance with tens of percents...

U also need to see if your Power Supply can hold the graphic card.
At komplett.no they have a sale at the moment.
GeForce GTX 460 = 151,- Euro
Radeon HD 5750 = ÂÂ*83,- Euro
Radeon HD 5770 ÂÂ*= 125,- Euro

But they have lots of more there so just go have a look.
And if u need to read some test of the cards just go to hardware.no and klikk on test`s ÂÂ*

FluggerNO
2011-03-29, 16:12
U need a Power supply higer then 500w to run a good pc but I think your`s is in mid/low range.
Also u need to look for if the graphic card have the rigth input for power. Normaly a 4pin connector.
Just open the side of the case and look at your old card of what connector that have.
But I think that a Radeon HD 5750 or HD 5770 ÂÂ*is oki for ya.
Hope it helps.
If u need more info and help u need to install a prog on your pc that can tell u what hardware u have and the write a support mail to komplett or something like that.

Seems like i will have to go for external fan then, i cant afford and montate powersupply

Not sure where u are going here Champ but this is under your 200 Euro budget.
Its an 140mm cooling fan on the power supply.
And its a real good cooling system on the card.

SnakeUK
2011-04-04, 16:21
Usually the minimum power supply is around 500Watts if i was you if you unsure wack a 750Watt power supply in as they are pretty budget so you wont be too out of pocket and at least then you will have enough power im running a quad core system with a gtx 465 Overclocked and had now power issues what so over :) make sure you get one with dual pci-e power cords aswell as these cards have 2 pci-e 12volt power supply's ;)

Champ
2011-04-04, 16:43
hmm I have an OLD computer, and i dont want to put to much in this, i just want to be able to play, and save up for a new monster

SnakeUK
2011-04-04, 16:58
hmm then stop wasting ur time because without a decent power supply minimum 500watt you wont be able to run most of the newest cards or even some of the odler ones without a decent power supply , so save faster and buy a monster pc! :) Problem solved

Or you could buy an awesome Gfx card and an awesome Power Supply and build a PC :) then you only gotta buy RAM, Motherboard & processor which come as a bundle for cheaper then individual anyways, then a case and HDD so you could do it this way!

Champ
2011-04-04, 18:51
Lol

Do you give me the money then ?
Or do you mean i should not play until i get a new pc ? that will maybe be in fall or something, i cant be without for that long

It doesn't matter if the power supply is 500-750-1000 watt. As long as your mobo is a standard ATX mobo, even if it is OLD, the PSU is not going to burn it up. If your comp is say a Dell, HP, or something made complete buy a simular company, you will HAVE to go through them to upgrade the PSU, because they make their stuff propriatory to their equipment. This is why I build my own from the ground up. Besides a good PSU is the starting base for any PC, and a good investment NOW will save you in the long run.

Exactly what i was tryin to state in my earlier post :) So if he buys a PSU now he can switch it to his new PC with his GFX Card and build one one up :)

Dident u order the parts this weekend Champ?.
The power supply will NOT burn your parts.
If your PC use like 550w and the supply is 750w it dosent use more then the 550w.
Its just so that the PC have more to run on if need`d.
And for u Champ a easy upgrade is what I posted for u.
Becuse it looks like u have a mid/low range pc.
But if u dident get the powersupply last weekend well sorry to say but now its full price..
